Rose Rasmussen was born in 1943 and raised in International Falls, MN. "From an early age I was inspired by the creativity and inspiration of my father, Romeo Karsnia. Although I have not had any formal training, through workshops, books, and observations, I have developed a unique style that has inspired my family and friends. I am a member of the Northland Art Society and have enjoyed participating in art workshops from Karlyn Holman, Jan Wallake, Karen Knutson, Jim West, Bridget Austin, and several local artists.
"I gather my inspiration and subject matter from my local surroundings of northern Minnesota. I have captured through acrylics and watercolors the essence of a picturesque sunset over Rainy Lake, including loons and cat tails. My portfolio of flowers done in water color is my family’s favorite. It includes lady slippers, tulips, pansies, cone flowers, hydrangeas, lilacs, roses, and fruit. My migration into abstracts has broadened and expanded my talent and imagination.
"I live with my husband John in Littlefork, Minnesota, and have five grown children with twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren."
